DORSAL ATLANTICA - "Antes do Fim" LP (red)
Brazilian thrashers Dorsal Atlântica, from Rio de Janeiro, have had a
respectably long career since they started out back in 1981. They were
one of the first Brazilian Thrash Metal bands to emerge from the
country's underground scene in the early 80's and slowly made themselves
known internationally with albums such as the debut Antes do Fim (originally released on the small Brazilian label Lunário Perpétuo back in 1986) and its follow-up album Dividir Conquistar
(originally released on Heavy Discos in 1988). They were unfortunately
only known to a small circle of underground Thrashers back then and were
never as well known as countrymen Sepultura, Sarcófago, Vulcano, Chakal
and the like. The one band that connected all of these young Brazilians
together was definitely Slayer.
On Antes do Fim Dorsal Atlântica offered a fair dose of
fast-paced and simple Thrash Metal much in the same vein of early Slayer
(the first two albums especially) but with less striking ideas. What
they lacked in technical playing they made up for with sheer enthusiasm
and total devotion to their music. Even today, Antes do Fim is
the kind of Thrash Metal record that I would choose over dozens and
dozens of other "retro" Thrash Metal releases that are simply lacking
when it comes to true nostalgia.
This re-release of Antes do Fim includes liner notes about the original cover artwork (by Carlos
Lopes), an interview with the band and rare photos.
However, if you have never heard Dorsal Atlântica's Antes do Fim before, you should do it now. You will not regret it.

NAPALM - "1984-1986" LP - SOLD OUT
Only a few copies available, first come first served.
"SOLID BLACK VINYL LIMITED TO 300 COPIES.
Hailing from Sapporo City, Japan, NAPALM stands as one of the oldest and rawest Hardcore bands ever spawned from that area. For the time they started they were incredibly fast, furious and aggressive. This is a typical case of undiscovered HC treasure and we are honoured to make it available on vinyl for the very first time, in a super deluxe edition with hardbound case-wrapped cover (taking inspiration from the legendary Selfish Records LPs!), extra OBI strip and insert loaded with photos, original cassette artworks and liner notes. They used to describe themselves as "JAPANESE AUTHENTIC HARDCORE PUNK", their sound was an insanely distorted yet powerful wall of noisy HC.. even if from different areas - they can remind stuff like KURO, GAI, L.S.D. and 1982-84 era THE COMES.
More infos straight from the record's insert:
the band sprinkled the noise and speed of angry Hardcore waves starting in 1983 and becoming one of the earliest Hardcore Punk bands that came from Sapporo City. They were active until 1986. As reported on a previous cassette version: the live tracks included here were recorded at a show they played, on that show the crowd was so frightened and paralized by fear that one person fainted, so those tracks can be considered NAPALM's "masterpiece" and memories. This LP collects all the band's existing recordings starting from the classic "Detestable deed" demo (all songs are included here except a long spoken outro at the end of A-side on the cassette), the ultra-rare "Sapporo Punk Omnibus" comp. trax and the above mentioned live footage."
