DELINQUENTES "Tapes Delinquentes Klassiks" LP

Delinquentes comes from Belém, capital city of the Northmost State
of Pará, edging the Brazilian rainforest. Even though  the  band  was
formed  in  1985,  only in 1988 they recorded their 1st demo tape, in
precarious  home studio conditions. Belem is situated 3200 km away
from  my  home city  Rio  de  Janeiro and I had no knowledge of any
band coming from that part of the country at the time.
Back then, 1988/89,  I used to exchange  fanzines  and tapes by post
and somehow got in touch with Jayme Katarro, who sent me cassette
recordings   of  his band DELINQUENTES, studio  and live tracks, raw,
nervous,  urgent  HC Punk with a northern  accent, I fell in love with
that band straight  away,  played  and copied  that tape  more times
than  i  can remember.  It became one of my all time favourite Brazi-
lian  Punk  bands,  along  with   CÂMBIO NEGRO,  KARNE KRUA  and
NxAxDxAx.
DELINQUENTES is still active and is an important name in the alterna-
tive music scene of Belém, they had many line up changes and their
sound evolved into the heavier HC crossover, they play nowadays, a
lot more technical if compared to the minimalistic raw punk they
used to play at the beginning. Jayme is still fronting the band and is
the only original member. In my humble opinion, DELINQUENTES has
always been one of the most important Brazilian HC PUNK bands,
not only for the music/noise they made, but for everything they
represent, their DIY ethics, their perseverance, their "never give up
spirit" and "in your face" attitude. In over 35 years of existence,
DELINQUENTES never had a single record released on vinyl.
I preserved most of my tapes from back when it was still a way for
bands to store their music, but that first tape Jayme sent me all
those years back, got somehow lost. Oh, the irony of it, one of my
favourite tapes disappeared from my archives, while others from
bands I don't even remember ever existing are still with me, it is
what it is, I guess...
I tried to get that first recording from Jayme, but he also wasn't able
to secure a single copy for himself. We started then our journey to
find someone who had preserved their tapes, thankfully we found
people who loved it so much or even more than us, and I decided to
dig that treasure and make it available again, now it is available
digitally everywhere, and phisically on a piece of wax.
On this LP version, we have not only the first 1988 Demo Tape
"Infecto Humano", but also the next 3 DELINQUENTES recordings,
DT "Não é Ficção"(1991), DT "Cenas de Dor" (1992) and their tracks
from the tape compilation "Gritos de Agonia e Desespero" (1993).
Altogether 32 tracks, in about 40 minutes, of raw, energetic, sing
along HardCore pogo punk, where you can hear the band evolving
musically and the direction they were heading.
Don't expect great sound quality. We tried to make it sound good but
keeping its raw essence.
You can order your copy directly from me (punkvortex@outlook.com)
or ask your local drugdealer  (he probably won't have it, and will offer some other shit he is selling).
